What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain APIs for time tracking, scheduling, time off, and payroll integration.
• Collaborate with product managers and designers to define API specifications and ensure seamless integration.
• Lead technical design and implementation of new features and platform enhancements.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers, providing technical support.
• Write clean, well-documented, and testable code; participate in code reviews.
• Optimize large-scale data stores for performance and troubleshoot production issues.

Requirements

• Must have 10+ years of software engineering experience with a focus on backend development.
• 8+ years building and maintaining backend systems.
• Strong understanding of API design principles and relational databases.
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Java, Python, or Go.
• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Work location: Must be based in or near Denver, San Francisco, New York, Los Angeles, Seattle, or Toronto with hybrid office attendance expected.

Nice to have

• Experience with Ruby on Rails.
• Prior technical leadership experience.
