TL;DR

Chargeback Specialist (Fintech): Handling the full cycle of chargebacks and disputes for card transactions with an accent on Visa/Mastercard rules and merchant monitoring. Focus on building evidence packs, fraud detection, and optimizing recovery rates.

Location: Hybrid (Must be based in Vilnius, Lithuania; minimum 3 days in office)

What you will do

  • Process inbound chargebacks and disputes by analyzing reasons, logs, and documents to determine representment viability.
  • Apply Visa and Mastercard rules, ensuring correct reason codes, timelines, and dispute stages are used.
  • Compile evidence packs (invoices, chats, delivery proofs, 3DS logs) and craft scheme-compliant arguments.
  • Liaise with Visa, Mastercard, and partners via official platforms to handle escalations and clarifications.
  • Detect and report fraud, assess risk, and recommend improvements to prevention practices.
  • Track KPIs such as recovery rates and reason code trends to identify patterns in merchants and verticals.

Requirements

  • English and Lithuanian: Clear and structured communication (written and spoken).
  • Location: Availability to work at least 3 days from the Vilnius office.
  • At least 2 years of experience as a chargeback, dispute, or risk operations specialist in a bank, EMI, PSP, or processor.
  • Direct hands-on experience with Visa Core Rules and Mastercard Chargeback Guide.
  • Deep knowledge of the card transaction lifecycle (auth, clearing, settlement, chargeback).

Nice to have

  • Direct experience with transaction and merchant transaction processing.
  • Experience working with a large international processor.
