Job Description (Internal):

• Leaning into AI and Claude code
• They want to move this into Kubernetes
• Primarily looking into Linux, Kubernetes, AWS, Helm, Terraform
• Nice to have PowerShell
• Network and database experience within this stack
• CICD Pipelines-- build components at speed and the DevOps team will set them up in GitHub
• 100% AWS shop, software is already in Kubernetes
• Team is 25 onshore, 30 offshore (5 in India)
• They want to break away from DevOps engineers shipping software to production; the adopters and contributors will be shipping their software
• This person will be improving tooling and enable self-service model
• Standard preferred working hours with occasion overlapping US hours
• They may have some on-call rotation
• The ideal candidate will have some Claude code experience-- if not Claude, then some comparable AI experience (like Copilot)
• Some Claude automations have already been created
• Must be willing (and happy) to introduce AI into day-to-day
• ECS, RDS, EKS, S3, ElasticCache, etc.
• Barely touch Lambda but would be nice to have
• Must have Jenkins and GitHub experience
• Senior level resource (multiple years within FinTech would be ideal)

Role OverviewWe are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join a mature, cloud-native engineering organization that is actively modernizing its DevOps practices and leaning heavily into AI-enabled development. This role is focused on platform enablement, tooling, and self-service, not shipping application code to production.The organization is a 100% AWS shop, with software already running in Kubernetes, and is continuing to evolve its Kubernetes and infrastructure tooling to support faster, safer delivery by development teams. DevOps owns the platforms and pipelines; application teams own deployment and delivery.This is a senior-level role ideal for someone who enjoys building scalable DevOps platforms, improving developer experience, and introducing AI into day-to-day engineering workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and improve DevOps tooling and platforms that enable development teams to independently build and ship software
• Support and evolve a self-service DevOps model, empowering adopters and contributors to deploy their own workloads
• Maintain and enhance CI/CD pipelines, with build components managed in GitHub and DevOps owning pipeline setup and standards
• Continue the organization’s migration and optimization efforts within Kubernetes (EKS) and AWS
• Develop and manage infrastructure using Terraform and Helm
• Partner with engineering teams across a global organization (onshore and offshore) to improve reliability, scalability, and velocity
• Introduce and expand the use of AI-assisted development tools (Claude, Copilot, or similar) in daily DevOps workflows
• Build upon existing Claude-based automations and identify new opportunities for AI-driven efficiency
• Participate in an on-call rotation to support platform reliability and operational excellence

Required Technical Skills

• Strong Linux systems experience
• Deep hands-on experience with Kubernetes
• Extensive experience in AWS, including services such as:
• ECS
• EKS
• S3
• ElastiCache
• RDS
• Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
• Kubernetes packaging and deployment using Helm
• CI/CD expertise with Jenkins and GitHub

• Solid networking and database experience within AWS and Kubernetes-based environments

Nice to Have

• PowerShell scripting experience
• Exposure to AWS Lambda (limited usage today, but beneficial)
• Experience working in FinTech or similarly regulated environments
• Prior experience supporting large, distributed engineering teams

AI & Automation Focus

• Hands-on experience with Claude Code is strongly preferred
• If not Claude, experience with comparable AI tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) is acceptable
• Must be enthusiastic and proactive about introducing AI into everyday DevOps workflows
• Experience building or extending AI-driven automations is a strong plus

• Engineering organization of approximately 55 team members
• ~25 onshore
• ~30 offshore (including a small team in India)
• Collaborative, platform-focused DevOps team
• Clear separation between platform enablement and application delivery

• Senior-level DevOps engineer with multiple years of hands-on experience
• Strong background in cloud-native DevOps and Kubernetes at scale
• Comfortable owning tooling, standards, and enablement rather than application releases
• Experience working across distributed teams and time zones
• Passionate about improving developer experience through automation and AI
