Trade Compliance Specialist

Location: East Syracuse, NY. Remote with occasional travel to corporate office or other site locations

Salary: $85,000 - $120,000 annually

What you will do

• Identify proper tariff classification, country of origin, and free trade agreements for various products based on customs regulations.
• Audit customs clearance documentation, broker entry accuracy, and record retention.
• Support value reconciliation and Foreign Trade Zone programs by working closely with accounting and the global compliance team.
• Contribute to continuous process improvements within the trade compliance function.
• Support initiatives aimed at reducing costs related to duties, taxes, and other trade-related expenses while maintaining compliance.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration or supply chain management combined with a minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience in trade compliance or customs brokerage.
• Knowledge of import/export regulations, legal codes, court procedures, precedents, government regulations, executive orders, and agency rules.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret and apply complex regulations.
• Proficiency with trade compliance software (QuestaWeb/Descartes).
• Skilled in using ERP systems (SAP).
• Customs Brokers License is preferred.
