Software Engineer Intern (Backend): Contributing to the core backend services and infrastructure that support our Product with an accent on improving service reliability, performance, and observability. Focus on building and maintaining APIs, implementing backend projects end-to-end, and supporting application quality in production.

What you will do

• Discover creative solutions for the backend platform and services.
• Contribute to internal tools and services, learning to build infrastructure that supports an organization.
• Participate in technical design discussions and assist in designing and implementing APIs and backend features.
• Implement backend projects end-to-end, focusing on performance and security in production.
• Support application quality by improving monitoring, logging, and observability.
• Learn and share knowledge, sharpening skills with team support.

Requirements

• Studying Computer Science, Software Engineering, Software Security, or similar.
• Looking for an end-of-studies internship.
• Experience with GitHub, Gitlab, or similar.
• Experience with Typescript/Javascript.
• Strong interest in security topics.
• Solid foundation in computer science, data structures, algorithms, and software design.
• Ability to understand backend service interactions (APIs, databases, integrations).
• Ability to understand infrastructure components (servers, containers, networking, and cloud services).
• Fluent in English (written and verbal).
• Must be based in Lisbon, Portugal for hybrid work, with office attendance required on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.

Nice to have

• Prior knowledge in CI/CD pipelines.
• Prior knowledge in Monitoring and Observability tools and principles.
• Prior knowledge in AWS cloud infrastructure.
