Platform Engineer (DevOps)

TL;DR

Platform Engineer (DevOps): Building and optimizing a resilient, secure, and cost-effective platform for cultural content with an accent on tooling, monitoring, security, reliability, and disaster recovery. Focus on managing high-scale distributed systems and implementing automation for seamless operations.

Location: This is a hybrid role working 2-3 times per week at the HQ in Amsterdam. Must be living in the Netherlands or willing to relocate to the Netherlands.

What you will do

• Keep applications, website, and API scaling seamlessly.
• Ensure developers have the necessary tools for fast shipping.
• Build a resilient, secure, and cost-effective stage for cultural content.
• Contribute to tooling, ensuring smooth pipelines and introducing new technologies.
• Implement robust monitoring for system health and visibility.
• Be involved with security audits, triaging issues, patching vulnerabilities, and responding to reports.
• Develop and validate playbooks for disaster recovery, including building, testing, and automating backups.

Requirements

• Basic experience with programming / scripting languages and debugging.
• Curious mindset, keen on learning and keeping up with relevant technologies.
• Involvement with high-scale distributed systems, understanding nuances of horizontal vs. vertical scaling, traffic management, and monitoring.
• Experience with tools such as Kubernetes, Terraform, or Gitlab, and automation (CI/CD).
• Passion for robust monitoring and logging.
• Must be living in the Netherlands or willing to relocate to the Netherlands.
