Staff Software Engineer (Platform)

What you will do

• Design and evolve self-serve tooling and paved paths to improve developer productivity.
• Manage and support CI/CD pipelines, build systems, and artifact repositories.
• Act as a steward for the GraphQL and gRPC ecosystem, ensuring smooth service communication.
• Improve IAM solutions and container orchestration (Kubernetes/ECS) to ensure secure and scalable infrastructure.
• Conduct user research with internal engineers to identify friction points and measure DevX metrics.
• Collaborate across organizational boundaries to align product teams on platform-wide changes.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software engineering experience, specifically in developer platforms or core infrastructure.
• Deep full-stack instincts with hands-on experience in backend services, frontend build pipelines, and CI configurations.
• Expertise in at least one CI/CD system, container orchestrator, and service-to-service communication protocol.
• Strong product mindset with the ability to treat engineers as customers and measure impact.
• Excellent communication skills for design documentation and stakeholder alignment.
• Must be able to work from the Amsterdam office 3 days per week.

Nice to have

• Experience with data-driven DevX development (DORA metrics).
• Experience with AWS and Terraform.
• Expertise in IAM at scale (JWTs, OIDC, fine-grained authorization).
