What you will do
- Contribute to the infrastructure supporting billions in annual transaction volume within the Payments team.
- Investigate and resolve issues across payment processing and reconciliation systems.
- Improve test coverage and automation for a high-reliability platform.
- Tackle fixes and improvements while maintaining a high engineering bar.
- Solve complex, interconnected problems, integrate with global partner APIs, and design for compliance and security.
Requirements
- Ownership mindset and responsibility for code quality and reliability.
- Strong technical fundamentals, writing clean, maintainable, and well-tested code.
- Comfortable working with external APIs, navigating documentation, and debugging integration issues.
- Awareness of security and compliance (e.g., PCI) and adherence to secure patterns.
- 2+ years of PHP/Java web application software engineering experience.
- Solid working knowledge of MySQL or PostgreSQL, including efficient queries and indexing.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with PCI-DSS, GDPR, or other compliance frameworks.
- Experience in payments, fintech, hospitality, or travel industries.
- Exposure to event-driven architectures, microservices concepts, or Domain-Driven Design.
- Familiarity with modern infrastructure tooling (e.g., DataDog, GitHub Actions, Kubernetes, Docker, AWS).
