Technical Lead (AI)

Location: San Francisco, United States; hybrid and in-office collaboration required

Base salary: $200,000–$400,000 per year, plus equity

What you will do

• Set technical direction for a full-stack product engineering team and build an enterprise-ready platform that scales across diverse customer workflows.
• Lead complex initiatives from ambiguous requirements through product launch, partnering with product, design, Agent Software Engineering, and Agent PM teams.
• Create AI-powered self-serve tools that enable non-technical teams to build and manage sophisticated workflows without code.
• Build monitoring and analytics capabilities that help customers identify opportunities to improve their AI agents.
• Partner with customers and cross-functional teams to validate product direction and identify new opportunities.
• Mentor engineers and improve team practices through technical design, code review, knowledge sharing, and technical standards.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience building full-stack software products, with demonstrated technical impact and strong product thinking.
• Deep expertise in TypeScript and/or Python, with strong architecture and system design skills.
• Experience designing abstractions and platforms for diverse use cases, leading technical initiatives, and building consensus across teams.
• Ability to balance technical excellence, rapid iteration, and customer needs while translating user feedback into technical solutions.
• Experience mentoring engineers and establishing technical standards.
• Ability to work in a hybrid, in-office environment in San Francisco, United States.

Nice to have

• Experience with security-sensitive systems, including authentication and data access controls.
• Experience building and scaling developer tools, APIs, platforms, or infrastructure products.
• Familiarity with LLMs, AI agent systems, prompt engineering, asynchronous programming, or scalable systems.
• Experience with observability, data visualization, analytics products, technical standards, design patterns, or architectural principles.
