Software Engineer, Cloud/Backend (Cybersecurity): Building cloud-based systems to detect targeted attacks at a global scale with an accent on high-quality systems that scale cleanly and reliably. Focus on building elegant solutions for complex technical problems in Go and leveraging engineering best practices to ensure clean code.

Location: Hybrid role based out of our office in Sunnyvale, CA (Bay Area) with the expectation of at least 2 days in office per week.

Salary: $120,000 - $180,000 per year

• Leveraging and building cloud based systems to detect targeted attacks at a global scale.
• Brainstorming, designing, and building collaboratively with members across multiple teams.
• Mentoring and helping fellow Crowdstrike engineers grow.
• Building elegant solutions for complex technical problems in Go.
• Reading code in multiple programming languages, including Go, Python, and Unix shell.
• Focusing on continual learning and raising the bar for both yourself and your teammates.

Requirements

• A computer science background or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience building and scaling back-end systems in production.
• Deep understanding of distributed systems and scalability challenges.
• Understanding of Cassandra, Kafka, Elasticsearch/Opensearch, and Redis/Valkey.
• Prior experience with cloud services, such as AWS, GCP, or OCI.
• Experience developing and deploying into Linux.

Nice to have

• Computer and/or network security experience.
• Prior implementation experience with Go and Python.
• Prior experience working within scalable microservices architectures.
• Prior experience with containerization and container orchestration technology such as docker and Kubernetes.
