What you will do

• Shape the long-term vision and scientific agenda for personalization across the enterprise.
• Serve as a strategic partner to product and engineering leaders to translate business goals into technical roadmaps.
• Lead applied research in recommender systems, foundation models, and multi-objective optimization.
• Build prototypes and components while driving experiments from concept to production.
• Champion rigorous multi-metric success frameworks and improve data quality/observability.
• Represent the organization as a recognized authority in applied ML through publications and conferences.

Requirements

• 15+ years of experience in applied ML/AI roles at scale.
• MS or PhD in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or related field.
• Deep expertise in large-scale personalization, recommendation systems, and ranking.
• Proven ability to deliver large, complex ML/AI projects from concept to production.
• Experience with experimentation, measurement, and segment-aware testing.
• Proficiency in Python and familiarity with data pipelines/model deployment tools.

Nice to have

• Proven track record as a recognized industry leader with publications, patents, or open-source contributions.
• Experience in e-commerce or two-sided marketplaces.
• Knowledge of privacy-forward AI practices and governed data contracts.
• Understanding of real-time/streaming personalization decision services.
