Reconciliation Specialist (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid role based in Europe. You will be expected to work from one of hirify.global's offices 2 days per week (e.g., Vilnius, Lithuania). Workation is possible up to 90 days per year, with 21 days allowed outside the EU.

Salary: €2,042–€2,892 gross per month

What you will do

• Perform daily "Internal vs. External" reconciliations for all safeguarding accounts across multiple currencies and banking partners using a third-party tool.
• Verify that the funds held in safeguarding accounts match the total customer liability on the internal platform/ledger.
• Own the end-of-day safeguarding control, ensuring the segregation of client and company funds is always maintained.
• Identify, investigate, and resolve reconciliation breaks (discrepancies) in a timely manner.
• Partner with Payments, Operations, and Tech teams to identify root causes of mismatches and drive sustainable fixes.
• Assist in the preparation of daily/monthly Safeguarding regulatory reports and support external annual audits.

Requirements

• Experience in Finance Operations, Treasury, or Reconciliations, ideally within a FinTech, Payments, or Banking environment.
• Understanding of the concept of Safeguarding, Segregation of Funds, and general ledger accounting.
• Highly detail-oriented, with strong analytical thinking and the ability to work accurately under daily deadlines.
• Stay updated on relevant regulations (e.g., PSR, EMR, CASS15, PSD2/3 etc).

Nice to have

• Experience with reconciliation software (e.g., AutoRek, Ledge, Aurum).
• Basic knowledge of SQL or data visualization tools (e.g., Pigment).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel or equivalent.
