What you will do

• Collaborate on building systems and services for large-scale production websites.
• Lead architecture for distributed services synchronizing shared state across clients with high availability and low latency.
• Define concurrency and conflict-resolution semantics, including trade-offs.
• Design for system failure, retries, partial outages, and safe recovery paths.
• Own operational excellence by defining SLIs/SLOs, instrumenting observability, and driving reliability.
• Drive cross-team technical alignment via design documentation and decision records.

Requirements

• BA/BS degree or equivalent experience.
• 7-10+ years of experience building and operating large-scale production distributed systems where latency, correctness, and reliability (99.99% uptime) are non-negotiable.
• Deep backend systems experience in modern server environments (e.g., Java, Go, Rust, Python, Node.js).
• Expertise with distributed systems, concurrency, scaling, and debugging multi-layer systems.
• Strong operational judgment in defining SLIs/SLOs and building observability.
• Ability to lead multi-team initiatives, write decision-quality design docs, and influence architecture.
• Actively building fluency in emerging technologies like AI.
