What you will do
- Lead cross-functional analytics projects, using advanced SQL and data modeling to uncover actionable business insights and identify optimization opportunities.
- Develop clear, data-driven recommendations to improve operational efficiency, drive revenue, and influence product and marketing leadership.
- Analyze and map the end-to-end customer and broker journey to understand key touchpoints and propose data-informed solutions.
- Design and deliver robust data models, reporting solutions, automated dashboards, and performance metrics.
- Integrate, clean, and synthesize data from multiple sources (marketing platforms, CRM, product usage, servicing systems) to build comprehensive narratives.
- Serve as an SQL subject matter expert, mentoring junior team members and promoting best practices in query design, data modeling, and documentation.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 5+ years of professional experience in data analysis, business analytics, or a related analytical role.
- 4+ years of domain experience in the insurance industry.
- Proven expertise in SQL, including complex query design, data modeling, and performance optimization.
- Knowledge of programming skills in Python, R, or a similar language for analytical workflows.
- Solid knowledge of analytical and statistical techniques such as hypothesis testing and experiment design.
- Demonstrated experience working with BI / visualization tools like Looker or Tableau.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to present technical findings clearly to non-technical business audiences.
Nice to have
- Experience in insurance underwriting, insurtech, or fintech sectors.
- Familiarity with operational / business tools, such as Amplitude, Google Analytics, Marketo, Salesforce, Segment, or Zuora.
- Exposure to ETL and analytics workflow tools (e.g., dbt, Airflow).
- Experience using Cursor or other GenAI-assisted IDEs for coding and analysis productivity.
- Understanding of advanced topics like causal inference or other advanced statistical methods.
