Senior Platform Engineer (Go): Building and optimizing internal tooling, infrastructure, and robust software systems that power a robot fleet and data pipelines with an accent on CI/CD pipeline development, internal API design, and real-time data integration. Focus on leading backend development in Go, contributing to frontend interfaces with React/TypeScript, and troubleshooting complex issues across software-hardware interactions in Linux environments.

Location: Hybrid in Wallingford, Oxfordshire (UK), with onsite presence circa once every 4 weeks.

What you will do

• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and developer tooling to support multiple engineering teams.
• Design and maintain robust software systems and internal APIs for robotics operations and data processing pipelines.
• Lead backend development in Go and contribute to modern front-end interfaces using React and TypeScript.
• Implement and optimize communication protocols for real-time telemetry and video using WebRTC, WebSockets, gRPC, and Zenoh.
• Design and manage efficient data storage solutions with PostgreSQL and SQLite for cloud and edge environments.
• Proactively troubleshoot complex issues across the full stack, especially in software-hardware interactions and Linux environments.

Requirements

• Experience in developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
• Proficiency in designing and maintaining robust software systems and internal APIs.
• Strong background in backend development with Go.
• Experience with front-end development using React and TypeScript.
• Knowledge of real-time data systems and communication protocols like WebRTC, WebSockets, gRPC, and Zenoh.
• Experience with data storage solutions such as PostgreSQL and SQLite.
• Ability to troubleshoot complex issues across the full stack, including Linux environments.

Nice to have

• Experience within robotics.
• Background in startup / scale-up environments.
