Senior Member Of Technical Staff (Backend, Python/Go): Designing and architecting high-performance backend solutions for cloud software and hyperconverged infrastructure with an accent on Linux networking, distributed systems, and system-side programming. Focus on driving technical excellence, ensuring quality standards for scale and resiliency, and mentoring team members in a fast-paced environment.

Location: Hybrid role, requiring 3 days per week onsite in one of the following locations: San Jose, Durham (USA), Mexico City (Mexico), Bangalore, Pune (India), Hoofddorp (Netherlands), Belgrade (Serbia), Barcelona (Spain), Singapore (Singapore), Sydney (Australia), or Tokyo (Japan).

What you will do

• Design and architect solutions and alternatives, driving consensus and decision making.
• Inculcate best practices within the team regarding design, coding standards, testing, and automation.
• Ensure quality standards of deliverables with regards to user experience, scale, resiliency, and reliability.
• Participate in project planning with Engineering and Program Managers to set milestones.
• Discuss requirements with the Product team and elicit responses for Non-Functional Requirements.
• Participate in product roadmap discussions and customer interaction, write white-papers and blogs, and file patents.

Requirements

• 8–10 years of hands-on software development experience in Python and Golang on Linux platforms.
• Strong understanding of the Linux networking stack, including sockets, netfilter, routing subsystem, namespaces, and cgroups.
• Expertise with iptables, nftables, and firewall rules management.
• Deep understanding of iproute2, network namespaces, VRFs, bridging, bonding, and VLAN configurations.
• Solid knowledge of packet flow, NAT, conntrack, and kernel-level networking concepts.
• Strong analytical and debugging skills in complex distributed network environments.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Communications, or a related field.

Nice to have

• Experience with virtualization technologies (KVM, QEMU, Docker, containers, or hypervisors).
• Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP, private cloud).
• Familiarity with security frameworks and hardening practices.
• Experience with routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, RIP) or advanced routing techniques.
