Location: Hybrid (San Diego, California or Mountain View, California, US): Must be able to be in either office at least 3 times a week.

Salary: $142,000–$192,500 (Bay Area California) or $124,000–$167,500 (Southern California)

What you will do

• Drive identification of scope, T-accounting requirements, and solutioning for new Fintech initiatives.
• Lead programs and squads towards strategic goals, managing dependencies across Product Development, Legal, and Operations.
• Research and document company positions on technical accounting issues.
• Lead use-case testing and UAT to ensure system builds match accounting intent.
• Gather and prepare journal entries, ensuring compliance with GAAP and corporate policies.
• Identify gaps in financial architecture and propose automated, scalable fixes.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience; Deep expertise in US GAAP is required.
• CPA or a background in technical accounting at a Big 4 firm or a major tech company.
• Proven ability to partner with Engineering, Product, Legal, and Operations teams.
• Track record of taking massive, ambiguous projects from idea to successful global launch.
• Understand how data flows through a distributed system.
• Must be able to be in either the San Diego or Mountain View office at least 3 times a week.
