Principal Quality Engineer (AI)

Principal Quality Engineer (AI, QA Automation): Defining and evolving enterprise quality engineering strategy, automation, and tooling across teams with an accent on quality standards, automation architecture, and quality system design, including AI-assisted features. Location: Atlanta, Georgia. This is a hybrid role requiring at least four full days each week working in an hirify.global office.

What you will do

• Define and evolve enterprise quality engineering strategy, standards, and frameworks.
• Establish organizational automation and tooling strategy, including evaluating AI-assisted features.
• Act as a technical authority for automation architecture, test strategy, and quality system design.
• Coach Senior QEs, QE Leads, and engineering leaders on advanced quality engineering practices.
• Define and interpret quality metrics and lead cross-organizational improvement initiatives based on data.
• Influence decisions across engineering, product, architecture, and platform teams without formal authority.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in Quality Engineering or Software Engineering with strong QE focus.
• 7+ years in senior QE, principal, or enterprise coaching roles.
• Deep understanding of modern SDLCs (Agile, DevOps, CI/CD) and advanced test design.
• Hands-on experience with modern automation tooling (e.g., Playwright, Cypress, Selenium, API testing tools).
• Practical experience evaluating emerging testing capabilities, including AI-assisted features.
• Exceptional coaching and facilitation skills across technical and leadership audiences.

Nice to have

• Experience defining enterprise QE standards or maturity models.
• Background in reliability engineering, platform engineering, or systems architecture.
• Experience leading quality efforts through large-scale transformations.
• Contributions to internal quality frameworks or communities of practice.
