Payroll Advocate

TL;DR

Payroll Advocate: Serving as the main point of contact for payroll and benefits customer inquiries with an accent on solving problems and proactively educating customers. Focus on building trust and partnership with customers through phone, email, and Zoom interactions to deliver an exceptional experience.

Location: Hybrid (Denver, Chicago, Phoenix, San Francisco, New York City). Employees based in those locations will be expected to work from the office on designated days approximately 2-3 days per week (or more depending on role).

Salary: $21.00–$35.00 per hour

What you will do

• Own the customer journey by building trust and rapport with customers through phone, email, and Zoom interactions.
• Provide expert support as a point of contact for payroll and benefits inquiries.
• Leverage AI‑assisted tools to accelerate research and communication.
• Identify churn risk and deliver solutions to mitigate it.
• Partner with customers and cross-functionally to unblock points of friction and address potential concerns.
• Think creatively and problem-solve across all areas of the business.

Requirements

• 3-6 years of customer experience with 1+ years of full-time experience in Payroll.
• Account Management experience preferred.
• Proven ability to proactively and reactively support customers.
• Ability to synthesize and communicate complex subjects clearly and effectively.
• Experience with Salesforce, Zoom, Google Suite, Google Calendar, and Gmail.
• Excels in balancing inbound calls, scheduled meetings, and email inquiries.
