What you will do

• Design, implement, and maintain server-side technologies for online gaming experiences.
• Develop network protocols and APIs for client-server communication.
• Optimize server performance and scalability for large-scale multiplayer environments.
• Collaborate with game designers, client programmers, and other stakeholders.
• Provide technical guidance and support to other team members.
• Shape an innovative and scaling server architecture with ownership and responsibility.

Requirements

• Proficiency in server-side programming using C++.
• Experience with network programming and socket communication.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in server-side development in Unreal Engine.
• Good understanding of Unreal's replication and network model.
• Experience with client-side prediction.
• Ability to work from office locations in Oslo, Norway, or Newcastle, UK with hybrid home working options.
