Senior Data Engineer (Big Data, Gaming)

Location: Stockholm, Sweden; hybrid work with office attendance required on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and big-data processing systems.
• Extract, clean, and transform data from multiple sources for modeling and consumption.
• Build robust ETL/ELT pipelines and data systems that support in-game and out-of-game user behavior analysis.
• Collaborate with analytics engineers, data scientists, analysts, and product stakeholders to deliver reliable data solutions.
• Create data dictionaries, schemas, metadata, and consistent documentation for stakeholders.
• Monitor pipeline availability and performance, implement automated data quality checks and alerts, and conduct code and SQL reviews.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or a related field, with 8+ years of experience in data engineering or a related area.
• Strong proficiency in Python, Spark, Scala, SQL, and Java.
• Experience with ETL/ELT processes and tools such as Apache Airflow, Talend, or dbt.
• Familiarity with cloud data platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, and Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform.
• Strong problem-solving, communication, collaboration, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Availability to work from the Stockholm office on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with dbt or GCP.
• Passion for gaming and a deep understanding of the gaming industry.
