What you will do

• Develop compelling, accessible written communications on how AI models benefit scientists and society.
• Draft and edit high-quality blog posts, op-eds, social media posts, and white papers explaining scientific and frontier AI research.
• Partner directly with research leads and scientists to understand their work and stay ahead of the publication cycle.
• Serve as the primary writer for major breakthrough launches and scientific announcements, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
• Synthesize dense technical information into clear, concise content suitable for technical and generalist audiences.
• Work with the External Communications Lead to ensure all written materials align with broader scientific narrative and mission.
• Manage a multi-format, multi-platform editorial pipeline across various platforms and ensure content aligns with editorial principles.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in science communications, science or technical writing, or journalism, with a specific focus on AI, computer science, or physics.
• Strong ability to read and understand technical research papers and comfort with machine learning and frontier AI terminology.
• Portfolio demonstrating the ability to explain complex topics with clarity and elegance.
• Ability to manage multiple writing projects simultaneously with tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Proactive self-starter, adaptable to different working styles, and able to prioritize competing deadlines.
• Strategic problem solver, skilled communicator and collaborator, responsive and resilient to challenging objectives.
