Network Design Specialist

TL;DR

Network Design Specialist: Creating technical network design documentation for onshore wind farms worldwide with an accent on designing and implementing solutions based on customer requirements, and following corporate network standards. Focus on updating and maintaining network drawings throughout all project phases, preparation, configuration, and installation.

Location: Hamburg, Rostock, DE. Up to 8 days of mobile work per month.

What you will do

• Design and implement solutions based on customer requirements for Nordex onshore wind park projects, following corporate network standards and components.
• Collaborate effectively with Network Architects, Project Engineers, and the Documentation team.
• Update and maintain network drawings throughout all project phases: preparation, configuration, and installation.
• Ensure compliance with Nordex corporate standards for network design.
• Create configuration designs for network components such as switches, routers, firewalls, sensors, and customer-specific options.
• Support process and design clarification in collaboration with Project Engineering colleagues.

Requirements

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of relevant professional experience combined with CCNA certification and proficiency in drawing tools such as Microsoft Visio and strong knowledge of communication protocols.
• Experience in IT/OT network configuration, including IP concepts, firewalls, and port management.
• Ability to work independently, structured, and solution-oriented and e xcellent communication skills.
• Experience providing technical support to colleagues and users across various levels.
• Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus.
