TL;DR

Lead, Insights (Product Design): Defining and driving the research strategy to build products grounded in deep understanding of neighbors and small businesses with an accent on balancing long-term vision with near-term product impact. Focus on synthesizing diverse inputs into a clear point of view, guiding teams through ambiguity, and shaping decisions at the highest levels of the company.

Location: Remote (US). Hybrid options are available for employees located near offices in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, New York, and London.

Salary: $219,000 - $291,000 on an annualized basis.

What you will do

  • Set the research strategy and vision, balancing strategic foresight with near-term product execution.
  • Translate research into influence by triangulating qualitative, quantitative, evaluative, and generative insights for senior leadership.
  • Raise the bar for research rigor by establishing standards and practices for methodological excellence and credibility.
  • Scale research impact across the company by building programs and systems for rapid, high-quality research.
  • Build and nurture a high-performing team through coaching, mentorship, and career growth opportunities.
  • Partner deeply with Design, Data Science, Product, and Engineering to embed research into product development and strategic planning.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in UX Research or related user-centered research roles.
  • 6+ years of experience leading and developing research teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to define research strategy and connect research outcomes to business and product decisions.
  • Strong experience synthesizing complex, multi-source research into clear narratives and recommendations.
  • Proven people-management skills, including coaching, performance development, and career growth planning.
  • Deep methodological expertise across qualitative and quantitative research methods.

Nice to have

  • Experience working on consumer social platforms, marketplaces, or community-driven products.
  • Experience building research functions through periods of organizational or product change.
  • Familiarity with research operations, tooling, and scaling practices in mid-to-large organizations.
