Senior Software Engineer (Web)

TL;DR

Senior Software Engineer (Python/React): Developing a web-based travel product by designing, architecting, and implementing integrations with third-party APIs with an accent on system architecture, code quality, and continuous integration. Focus on mentoring colleagues, solving complex product engineering challenges, and adapting to new technologies.

Location: Hybrid (London or Boston). Requires working in-person 3 days a week at one of our hubs. Relocation assistance is available to London or Boston from anywhere in the world.

What you will do

• Develop web-based travel products using Python/Django and/or React.
• Design, implement, and test system architecture.
• Integrate the product with third-party APIs.
• Work in an Agile environment with focus on documented code, unit testing, and continuous integration.
• Mentor, coach, and train colleagues as a domain expert.

Requirements

• "Product Engineering" mindset with pragmatism, simplicity, efficiency, and performance.
• Extensive experience building technically complex products in any web programming language.
• Expertise in server-side, client-side, or full stack development.
• Obsession for quality and testing.
• Eagerness to learn new technologies and frameworks.
• Strong communication skills.
• Must be based within commuting distance of London or Boston.
• English: B2+ required.

Nice to have

• Experience using AI coding tools (e.g., Copilot, Cline).
• Experience building AI-backed product features using AWS, GCP, or OpenAI platforms.
• Experience in the travel industry.
• DevOps experience with AWS suite.
• Experience working with high-performing Agile teams.
• Contribution to open-source projects.
