TL;DR

Senior Data Platform Architect (Data Platforms): Building and optimizing complex data platforms and architectures with an accent on data modernization, re-engineering, migration, and re-platforming efforts. Focus on leading the design and implementation of modern data platforms, utilizing automation, and setting standards.

Location: Hybrid (Irving, TX), 3 days in office. W2 contract only, must be based in the US.

What you will do

• Consult on complex software engineering initiatives with broad impact and large-scale planning.
• Review and analyze multi-faceted, large-scale software engineering challenges.
• Contribute to resolving complex situations requiring a solid understanding of function, policies, and compliance.
• Strategically collaborate and consult with client personnel.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance for data modernization, re-engineering, migration, or re-platforming efforts.
• Lead the design and target state implementation of modern data platforms, including utilization of automation and setting standards.

Requirements

• 5+ years of Software Engineering experience.
• 3+ years of experience with Python, Spark, and Iceberg at scale.
• Experience with Dremio or data virtualization, federation, and semantic layers.
• Proficiency in cloud platforms like GCP and Azure.
• Hands-on experience with ETL tools (Ab Initio preferred) and databases (SQL, Oracle, MS SQL, Teradata).
• Strong background in data analysis, modeling, design, and tuning large enterprise data environments.

Nice to have

• 5+ years with modern Data Warehousing, Data Lake, and Data Lakehouse architectures.
• 5+ years providing technical leadership for data modernization, re-engineering, migration, or re-platforming efforts.
• Demonstrated experience leading the design and target state implementation of modern data platforms.
