TL;DR

Intern, Design (Fintech): Contributing to the design and delivery of real product experiences across areas like Investing and Banking, with an accent on UI/UX, product thinking, and customer empathy. Focus on owning smaller projects end-to-end, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and iterating on designs based on customer feedback.

Location: Hybrid work model requiring weekly commute to Toronto, Canada headquarters on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Must be residing in Canada and able to commute to Toronto HQ. Eligibility requires current enrollment at a Canadian post-secondary institution or technical bootcamp, or being a new graduate within 6 months of graduation.

Salary: CAD $74,000–$90,000 (depending on term and experience)

What you will do

• Work alongside Senior and Staff Product Designers on impactful product initiatives for millions of Canadians.
• Own smaller design projects from problem understanding to exploration, refinement, and shipping to production.
• Design thoughtful, high-quality UI and interactions, developing product thinking and customer empathy.
• Collaborate closely with product managers and engineers to move ideas from concept to shipped product.
• Participate in customer research and feedback sessions to understand user needs and pain points.
• See your work ship to production multiple times and learn iterative product improvement processes.

Requirements

• Experience using Figma to design and prototype product experiences.
• Genuine interest in product design and curiosity about building and improving digital products.
• Passion for hirify.global’s mission and helping Canadians achieve financial freedom.
• Strong taste in design and willingness to share ideas, explore alternatives, and explain thinking.
• Comfort learning new problem spaces quickly and eagerness to dig into complex domains.
• Collaborative mindset for working with designers, engineers, and product partners.

Nice to have

• Experience experimenting with prototyping or developer tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, or other AI-assisted workflows.
