What you will do

• Define functionality and design for the next generation streaming data platform.
• Drive long-term product and technology strategy and innovation.
• Drive future state architecture for Dynamic Tables and key systems within data pipelines.
• Design and build highly reliable software to meet the needs of large customers.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to senior management.
• Ensure operational readiness of services regarding reliability, availability, and performance.

Requirements

• 14+ years of industry experience designing and building distributed data systems.
• Experience building enterprise-grade, reliable and trustworthy software or services.
• Deep knowledge of foundational data systems and propensity to work in the future.
• Ability to work in a team environment, collaborate well, and mentor junior engineers.
• Strong oral and written English language skills.

Nice to have

• Experience designing stream processing systems: Flink, Beam, Spark Streaming, etc.
• Experience with analytic database technologies, especially internal design and implementation.
• Experience developing database or distributed systems internals.
• Knowledge of large-scale distributed systems, transactions, and consistency models.
• Experience implementing multi-tenant systems, with a focus on reliability, performance, isolation, and security.
• Experience designing and implementing systems for public or private clouds.
