Senior Engineering Manager (Recommendations and Marketplace): Defining and owning the technical vision for how users onboard and activate through hirify.global's Marketplace Experiences, with an accent on marketplace authentication services, booking, notifications and activation experiences. Focus on architecting scalable backend systems, improving key marketplace flows, and scaling a high-performance engineering culture with AI-powered development flows.
Location: Hybrid, with required in-office presence Tuesday through Thursday at our New York City, San Francisco, or Seattle hub. This role also includes travel 2–3 times per year for company and department offsites.
Salary: $225,000–$300,000 USD annually

What you will do
- Define and own the long-term technical and product visions for core Marketplace Experiences.
- Oversee the re-architecture of scalable backend systems that support high-volume matching, transactions, availability management, and operational workflows.
- Design and evolve our conversion flows including authentication, booking, and applied AI patterns.
- Lead and mentor a high-performance engineering team, raising the bar for technical execution, communication, and problem-solving.
- Create AI levers for development flows such as documentation, operations, and architectural guardrails to ensure consistency, quality, and efficiency across the engineering lifecycle.
- Advocate for both client and provider experience needs, translating insights into technical investments and roadmap priorities.
Requirements
- 4+ years of engineering management, including 2+ years leading product engineering teams
- Demonstrated strength in product engineering, deeply understanding user needs and shaping delightful, high-quality experiences.
- Strong architectural and technical sense - able to define a vision, influence direction, and drive execution.
- Proven ability to deliver complex, ambiguous projects that span multiple teams and stakeholders.
- Highly data-driven mindset, comfortable with experimentation, measurement, and optimization.
- Exceptional communication and cross-functional leadership, including influencing non-technical stakeholders.
