Senior Technical Animator (GameDev): Integrating and polishing animation assets into the game engine, and prototyping new animation cosmetics for Overwatch with an accent on quality control, technical implementation, and vendor support. Location: This role is anticipated to be a hybrid work position with the potential home studio in Irvine, CA. However, remote work arrangements may be explored from within the U.S.

Salary: $80,800.00 - $149,400.00 Annual

What you will do

• Implement and polish approved animation assets into the game engine.
• Lead technical prototyping efforts for future animation cosmetics.
• Collaborate with animation leads, supervisors, and production on outsourcing pipelines.
• Oversee quality control of incoming animation assets and provide technical feedback.
• Create detailed documentation and references for external vendors.
• Mentor outsource supervisors on in-game engine technical aptitude.

Requirements

• 8+ years of AAA game experience as an Animator or Technical Animator.
• Extensive experience working in one or more game engines (Unreal, Unity, proprietary) with an eye towards content implementation.
• Experience working with state script/animation blueprints to augment animation functionality and engine performance.
• Proficiency in Maya game animation asset creation, with a solid understanding of the principles of character animation and rigging.
• Strong problem-solving skills, both in content creation tools and in-game systems.
• Based in the U.S. for hybrid or remote work arrangements, with Irvine, CA as a potential home studio.

Nice to have

• Experience with animation retargeting pipelines.
• 1st Person animation experience.
• Scripting experience (Python, C+, Lua).
