What you will do
- Collaborate with graphics engineers, designers, and artists to align rendering approaches with creative and technical targets.
- Conduct look-development and break down high-bar visual goals into actionable, real-time-ready procedures.
- Prototype, test, and extend rendering systems within Unreal Engine 5.
- Maintain visual coherence across scalability targets and troubleshoot rendering and performance-related challenges.
- Develop test gyms and unit tests to help artists deliver optimized, performant content.
- Mentor and guide the art team on best practices and technical approaches for world-building and rendering.
Requirements
- Typically 7+ years of experience in real-time graphics, rendering, or technical artistry.
- Strong understanding of GPU workflows (lighting, rendering, compute shaders), particularly in Unreal Engine 5.
- Proven experience developing shaders and materials that balance performance and visual quality.
- Proficiency in HLSL, GSL, or other shader languages.
- Experience developing tools or automation systems using C++ or Python.
- Demonstrated experience building scalable lighting, shading, and material pipelines.
