Unreal Engine Technical Artist (Gamedev): Collaborating with the art team to improve the look and feel of projects using new asset creation techniques and bleeding-edge technology with an accent on creating textures, materials, and shader code. Focus on pushing projects to the next level using advanced physically based shading and lighting techniques.

What you will do
- Pioneer new asset creation techniques for environment assets.
- Create technical prototypes and mock-ups for the Art Team to use as a reference.
- Propose pipeline and technology improvements to Art and Core Pipeline Teams.
- Support the Environment Team with requests for shader changes.
- Collaborate with the Environment Team to create and apply PBR materials and texture maps on assets.
- Maintain consistency and quality on all textures and shaders created for characters and/or environments.
Requirements
- Ability to work on both stylized and realistic projects.
- Understands memory and frame-rate budgets for XboxOne, PS4, or comparable platforms.
- Keeps up with current technologies used in and by various game engines.
Nice to have
- Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or five to seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in AAA console games.
- Advanced knowledge of cutting-edge content creation pipelines.
- Advanced knowledge of game engines like Unreal Engine or equivalent.
- Experience in Substance Designer/Painter, Houdini, Maya.
- Basic understanding of CgFX, HLSL, or Cg from a technical artist’s perspective.
- Basic understanding of Python and photography is a plus.
