Location: Globally-distributed, completely remote. Candidates located in or nationals of Belarus, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Russia, Syria, the Crimea Region of Ukraine, the Donetsk People’s Republic (“DNR”), and the Luhansk People’s Republic (“LNR”) may require an export license for employment.

Salary: $239,800–$379,300 USD (in select US locations); $199,700–$315,900 USD (standard range).

What you will do

• Lead cross-organizational initiatives to produce an industry-leading Timeseries solution offering.
• Contribute full-time to hirify.globalsearch, building data-intensive new features and fixing bugs.
• Implement data structures or algorithms in the code base and get close to the operating system and hardware.
• Act as an expert in several areas of hirify.globalsearch, improving them based on your instincts and questions.
• Work with community members from all over the world on issues and pull requests.
• Write idiomatic modern Java.

Requirements

• Implemented novel techniques to efficiently index, store and query Timeseries data.
• Strong technical leadership skills, working with a high level of autonomy to guide projects end-to-end.
• Strong core Java skills, conversant in standard library data structures and concurrency constructs.
• Strong desire to optimize and make use of the most efficient data structures and algorithms.
• Comfortable developing collaboratively, giving and receiving feedback on code and approaches.
• Experience with several data storage technologies like hirify.globalsearch, Solr, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Cassandra.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice to have

• Built things with hirify.globalsearch before.
• Worked with open source projects and are familiar with different styles of source control workflow and continuous integration.
