Location: New York, New York. This position is based in our New York City Office.

Salary: $205,000–$261,500 per year

What you will do

  • Lead the team building the core computation layer for payroll, money movement, and tax calculation products.
  • Partner with Product to define and execute long-term strategy and quarterly roadmap.
  • Coordinate projects, setting priorities, and motivate engineers to create and maintain features.
  • Lead technical decision-making and identify projects for scaling capabilities and improving financial integrity.
  • Mentor engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
  • Attract, hire, develop, and retain a high-performing team of engineers.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience as a software engineer working on production web applications.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience managing a team of engineers.
  • Demonstrable experience prioritizing, crafting, and achieving plans.
  • Strong communication skills to explain complex concepts to technical and non-technical people.
  • Solid understanding of core web development technologies, data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems.
  • High levels of empathy and interpersonal skills.
