Senior Manager, Systems Engineering

TL;DR

Senior Manager, Systems Engineering (SRE): Leading a team of engineers responsible for building software for a sponsoring customer, expanding offerings by building features and services into the existing platform. Focus on solving unique problems in scalable and repeatable ways and automate detection and resolution of recurring Operations and SRE issues in the restricted environment.

Location: Must possess a TS/SCI Security Clearance with polygraph. Must have and maintain the specific level of U.S. government background investigation and clearance required for this role.

hirify.global is seeking an Engineering Leader to join the Operations and SRE organization!

What you will do

• Act as coordinator between the build engineers and the commercially led service teams who own and operate services in restricted regions.
• Operate in a fast paced environment and solve sophisticated issues quickly and optimally prioritize multiple priorities.
• Ensure that work carried out by the Operations and SRE team is executed in such a way as to align with the company’s internal compliance policy and directives.
• Be available to discuss and resolve technical issues and customer concerns with other technical staff as the need arises.
• Populate and participate in RCAs and hand them off to the Global Solutions team.
• Work to automate detection and resolution of recurring Operations and SRE issues in the restricted environment.

Requirements

• Active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph required
• A related 4-year technical degree or equivalent work experience required
• 4+ year proven experience managing a team of developers or engineers operating in a restricted environment.
• Systems engineering experience in enterprise scale internet service engineering or support role
• Systems engineering fundamentals (networking, storage, operating systems)
• Leading development life cycle processes and best practices, esp. in the areas of deployment automation

Nice to have

• BS or higher degree preferred in Computer Science plus relevant job-related experience
• Expertise in Kubernetes based deployments and Kubernetes based development.
• Hands on experience configuring and running AWS (Amazon Web Services), using the CLI/SDKs
• Experience in Docker orchestration and management.
• Experience working within both the Intelligence Community (IC) and Department of Defense (DOD) environments
