TL;DR

Senior Backend Engineer (Python): Designing, implementing, and optimizing data pipelines for AML detection solutions with an accent on large-scale distributed data processing and high engineering standards. Location: Hybrid, requiring at least 3 days per week from the office in Gdynia, Gdańsk, Warszawa, or Łódź, Poland.

Salary: 22,000–28,000 PLN/month (B2B contract)

What you will do

• Design, implement, and optimize data pipelines for AML detection scenarios.
• Implement detection logic, rule frameworks, and scoring components for financial-crime use cases.
• Develop high-quality, scalable, and maintainable code.
• Work with large-scale distributed data processing environments.
• Ensure high engineering standards across code, data pipelines, and operational processes.
• Collaborate within Agile teams while being able to work independently.

Requirements

• Strong programming skills in Python.
• Advanced experience with Apache Spark (PySpark) and SQL for large-scale data processing.
• Hands-on experience with distributed computing platforms and on-premise cluster environments.
• Experience with CI/CD tools (Bamboo, Jenkins) and Bitbucket.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt quickly.
• Experience working in Agile environments and English: B2 required.

Nice to have

• Programming skills in Java.
• Previous experience in Financial Crime, AML, or surveillance projects.
• Experience with automation (pipeline deployment, data validation, testing frameworks, workflow orchestration).
• Experience integrating solutions with third-party systems (e.g., case management systems).
