What you will do

• Become a full-time hirify.globalsearch contributor, building new data-intensive features and fixing bugs to improve code clarity.
• Research and implement optimal data structures and algorithms for new functionalities and enhancements.
• Work with a globally distributed team on hirify.globalsearch’s search and query (ES|QL) analytics capabilities.
• Collaborate with UI and solution-building teams to ensure a good user experience and robust APIs.
• Serve as an expert in various areas of hirify.globalsearch, proactively improving them based on insights and community feedback.
• Engage with community members on issues and pull requests, providing triage and handling resolutions.

Requirements

• Strong skills in core Java, including standard library data structures, concurrency constructs, and newer features like lambdas.
• Experience with software systems engineering.
• A strong desire to optimize and utilize the most efficient data structures and algorithms.
• Ability to work autonomously, guiding projects from design to completion while collaborating with other engineers.
• Comfortable with collaborative development, including giving and receiving feedback on code and APIs.
• Experience with several data storage technologies (e.g., hirify.globalsearch, Solr, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, Cassandra) with an understanding of their internal workings.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective asynchronous collaboration.
• Work authorization and location: Not available to individuals located in or nationals of Belarus, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Russia, Syria, the Crimea Region of Ukraine, the Donetsk People’s Republic, and the Luhansk People’s Republic due to U.S. and other country export controls.

• Prior experience building solutions with hirify.globalsearch.
• Familiarity with the search and information retrieval space, including associated data structures and algorithms.
• Experience working on data storage technology or building data analytics capabilities.
• Experience designing, leading, and owning cross-functional initiatives.
