Principal Developer Engineer I (hirify.globalsearch): Building and optimizing new analytics capabilities within hirify.globalsearch's compute engine and ES|QL, defining and directing its next generation. Location: Remote globally. Due to U.S. export controls and licensing requirements, candidates cannot be located in or be nationals of Belarus, Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Russia, Syria, the Crimea Region of Ukraine, the Donetsk People’s Republic (“DNR”), and the Luhansk People’s Republic (“LNR”).

Salary: $192,500–$304,500 CAD

What you will do

• Define, lead, and contribute to the development of data-intensive enhancements.
• Build new analytics capabilities in hirify.globalsearch’s compute engine, accessed via ES|QL.
• Research the latest features, data structures, and algorithms for new capabilities.
• Provide technical vision and direction for customer/user interfaces and underlying language syntax/compute infrastructure.
• Collaborate with partners and product teams to understand needs and build a strategic vision for the longer term.

Requirements

• Experience leading technical projects in data and enterprise architecture, building and running sophisticated technical infrastructures.
• Strong hands-on experience with core Java, standard library data structures, and concurrency constructs, with a desire to optimize.
• Proficient with search and analytics APIs (e.g., Splunk SPL, hirify.globalsearch, Datadog, Dynatrace, New Relic).
• Experience with data storage technologies such as hirify.globalsearch, Solr, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Cassandra.
• Ability to work with a high level of autonomy, guiding projects from beginning to end, including technical design and component development.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English for effective collaboration in a distributed team.

Nice to have

• Experience building with hirify.globalsearch and understanding the search and information retrieval space.
• Familiarity with open source projects, source control workflow, and continuous integration.
