TL;DR

Infrastructure Support Engineer (Azure, Networking): Provide 3rd line technical support for physical and cloud infrastructure, ensuring secure and scalable solutions with an accent on monitoring, incident resolution, and system resilience. Focus on managing Active Directory, Office 365, network technologies, and collaborating on cloud telephony and security projects.

Location: Hybrid working in Liverpool City Centre, UK. Applicants must have at least one year remaining on their Graduate or Post-Study Work visa as visa sponsorship is not offered.

Salary: £33,500 – £40,000

What you will do

  • Provide 3rd line technical support and act as an escalation point for complex incidents to the internal IT Helpdesk.
  • Manage and deploy on-premises infrastructure, ensuring all assets have appropriate monitors, alerts, backups, and recovery plans.
  • Support the cloud platform team for activities and management of elements within the Azure cloud environment.
  • Manage Active Directory and associated services, including secure certificates, and perform scheduled operational resilience recovery tests.
  • Execute monthly security and critical updates to all infrastructure assets.
  • Collaborate with SecOps and InfoSec functions on vulnerability remediation actions, updates, and audit processes.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a similar 3rd line/infrastructure focused role.
  • Practical experience delivering and supporting traditional infrastructure disciplines including network, server, storage, and security.
  • Experience with Backup solutions and recovery processes, as well as MS Exchange, Exchange Online, and Office 365.
  • Proficiency in SFTP, automation including PowerShell scripting or similar.
  • Practical understanding of network technologies (Firewalls, Switches, WAN, LAN, VPN, DNS), Microsoft Windows Server Operating Systems, and Virtualisation (VMWare & Hyper-V).
  • Awareness of ITIL methodologies and experience working within a ticket management system with SLA and KPI adherence.
  • Must have at least one year remaining on a Graduate or Post-Study Work visa; visa sponsorship is not offered.
