What you will do

• Design and build high-performance, secure, and well-documented web services.
• Diagnose and optimize system bottlenecks, ensuring high availability and low-latency performance.
• Leverage AWS services, Kubernetes, and modern DevOps practices to deploy production-grade systems.
• Collaborate with ML researchers, engineers, and scientists to integrate data pipelines and APIs into scientific workflows.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 4-8 years of experience writing software in a commercial setting.
• Full stack development experience (React, TypeScript, FastAPI, SQL/NoSQL, Python).
• Hands-on experience with AWS, Kubernetes, containerization, and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform).
• Proven track record of working cross-functionally with scientists, data engineers, and product teams.
• Proven ability to take ownership of complex backend challenges, balancing trade-offs.

Nice to have

• Exposure to AI technologies such as Large Language Models (LLMs) or Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
• Experience with ORMs (SQLModel, Django) and orchestration tools (Airflow, Prefect).
• Familiarity with Python data science and ML libraries (pandas, numpy, pytorch).
• Domain background in laboratory software or analytics for life sciences.
