TL;DR

Head of CG (Game Development): Overseeing the technical aspects of production in Digic Animation, as well as leading and growing a high-performing supervision team within the division with an accent on technical vision, operational excellence, and people management. Focus on defining the division’s technical direction and workflow, overseeing the planning and performance of the supervision talent, and aligning the overall CG strategy.

Location: Remote within ±2h of Budapest (CET)

What you will do

  • Define the division’s long-term CG strategy and technical direction.
  • Recruit, mentor, and provide senior-level oversight to CG Supervisors.
  • Serve as the main custodian for workflows and expectations with external vendors.
  • Ensure high-quality output within budget by consulting with project teams on creative goals.
  • Participate in bidding, scoping, and evaluating technical requirements for upcoming projects.

Requirements

  • Significant experience leading teams or departments in the 3D animation/VFX industry.
  • Strong strategic and organizational skills, with the ability to balance creativity and operational precision.
  • Proven leadership and people management experience, including talent development and team culture building across a department.
  • Financial acumen and experience managing budgets and reporting performance.
  • Deep knowledge of CG and/or VFX pipelines, practice and processes.
  • Experience in long-form animation.

Nice to have

  • 10+ years of experience leading teams in the 3D animation/VFX industry (long-form preferred).
  • Proven ability to lead senior technical staff (CG/VFX Supervisors, HoDs, Supervisors, Leads)
  • Strong strategic and organizational skills, capable of translating technical creativity into precise operational workflows.
  • Deep expertise in technologies like asset management, simulation workflows, USD pipelines, procedural scene management, render management, and scalable review/iteration processes.
  • Experience with NPR/stylized looks is a significant advantage.
