Staff Applied AI Engineer

What you will do

• Define the technical architecture for AI agents that manage context, orchestrate workflows, and generate production-ready applications.
• Develop a multi-model strategy across OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google, including evaluations and provider capability testing.
• Design reliable tool-use interfaces and workflow foundations for search, queries, and domain actions.
• Establish organizational best practices for agent frameworks and AI engineering.
• Own dataset methodology, evaluation harnesses, and measurable improvement based on failure modes and conversation insights.
• Drive cross-team execution, resolve product and technical trade-offs, mentor engineers, and experiment with prompting, context handling, and post-training.

Requirements

• Production experience building and scaling LLM systems, with a strong understanding of model capabilities, limitations, and emergent behavior.
• Experience establishing prompt-engineering practices across models and use cases.
• Strong software-engineering fundamentals and experience designing scalable systems.
• Ability to lead ambiguous, high-scope initiatives and influence multiple teams.
• Experience with data collection, evaluation harnesses, model trade-offs, and the AI agent lifecycle.
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills are required.

Nice to have

• Experience with fine-tuning and alignment methods such as SFT, RLHF/RLAIF, DPO, or ORPO.
• Machine-learning fundamentals and model evaluation metrics experience.
• Open-source AI/ML contributions or maintenance experience.
• Research experience implementing techniques from AI/ML papers.
• Conference speaking, technical publishing, or industry representation experience.
