Legal Counsel

TL;DR

Legal Counsel: Providing practical, business-oriented legal support to an IT/technology-driven organization with an accent on commercial contracts, corporate governance, and data protection compliance. Focus on drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements in cross-border environments, ensuring GDPR compliance, and advising on employment law matters.

Location: This role is primarily remote with work-from-anywhere possibilities in hirify.global-approved European countries, and offers hybrid work options at offices in Vilnius or Kaunas, Lithuania.

Salary: €3,500–€5,200 gross / month

What you will do

• Draft, review, negotiate, and manage a wide range of commercial agreements, including service, procurement, lease, and subcontractor agreements.
• Support sales and business leaders with clear, risk-balanced legal advice during negotiations and continuously improve contract templates.
• Organize and oversee corporate decision-making in accordance with company bylaws and applicable laws.
• Ensure compliance with GDPR, including maintaining privacy documentation and managing related processes.
• Monitor relevant regulatory developments and support implementation of required changes.
• Coordinate external legal counsel in disputes and litigation, escalating key decisions to business leadership.
• Advise on employment law matters, including documentation, disciplinary procedures, and terminations.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Law.
• 3–4 years of relevant professional experience.
• Strong practical understanding of IT and digital contracting, data protection, and procurement processes.
• Business-oriented, solution-driven mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
• Proven experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements in cross-border environments.
• Fluency in both Lithuanian and English languages, written and spoken.

Nice to have

• Prior experience in supporting technology-related legal matters (e.g., SaaS agreements and basic IP topics) in collaboration with external counsel.
