TL;DR

Employment And Litigation Lawyer: Overseeing and managing a wide range of employment and general litigation matters with an accent on case strategy, cost-effective representation, and managing outside counsel. Focus on providing strategic legal guidance across employment-related issues, internal investigations, regulatory compliance, and dispute resolution, including navigating complex federal and state employment laws.

Location: Remote (from within the U.S.) or in one of hirify.global’s U.S. offices (SF, LA, Chicago, NYC).

Salary: $230,000–$322,000 USD

What you will do

  • Oversee and manage employment and general litigation matters, driving case strategy and managing outside counsel.
  • Conduct fact-finding and internal reviews to assess claims and inform legal/business strategy.
  • Respond to third-party subpoenas, demand letters, and administrative charges.
  • Serve as a strategic legal partner to Human Resources and other internal teams on employment and general litigation.
  • Advise on employment legal matters including employee relations, recruitment, wage/hour, terminations, and international expansion.
  • Prepare, review, and advise on employment agreements and policies.
  • Conduct internal investigations, worker classification assessments, and employment-related audits.
  • Drive innovation by providing legal review for e-Discovery processes and AI utilization in legal work.
  • Monitor evolving laws and regulations and provide strategic advice to internal stakeholders.

Requirements

  • JD and current license in a state bar in the United States.
  • 6-10 years of employment law experience, preferably with a mix of big law firm and in-house experience.
  • Extensive litigation experience with all phases of litigation.
  • Deep knowledge of U.S. employment laws, including Title VII, ADA, ADEA, FMLA, FLSA, and related state/local equivalents.
  • Experience with California employment law.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Team-oriented with experience working in diverse and remote environments.
