Senior Lighting Artist (Game Development)

TL;DR

Senior Lighting Artist (Game Art): Creating and optimizing lighting for real-time game engines with an accent on time of day library creation, skybox material customization, and local lighting. Focus on checking PBR and PBL, creating custom HDRI maps, and scripting simple lighting functions while monitoring performance.

Location: Remote work is possible within Ukraine, including for employees outside the Kyiv region. The modern office is located in Kyiv.

What you will do

• Create time of day libraries and customize skybox materials.
• Implement local lighting on levels in collaboration with game/level artists.
• Check and control PBR and PBL on the project.
• Create custom HDRI maps and script simple lighting functions and IES profiles.
• Monitor performance on the level and test levels for playability and stability.

Requirements

• Solid understanding of lighting in real-time engines.
• Exceptional eye for color and composition, and light and shadow.
• Strong knowledge of how light reacts with PBR materials and textures.
• Excellent understanding of in-game lighting techniques, atmospheric effects and subsequent systems.
• A strong portfolio focused on lighting work.
• Ability to work with different disciplines to deliver lighting that follows the concept and art direction.
• English: B1+ (speaking) required.
