French Canadian Linguist (Localization)

Location: Remote. Candidates must be based in one of the following countries: Canada, Spain, Italy, France, Germany, Ireland, United Kingdom, Greece, Romania, or United States.

What you will do

• Perform quality control, translation, trans-creation, and post-editing tasks for English to French Canadian.
• Manage project-related queries and maintain linguistic materials, including glossaries and Style Guides.
• Interact with clients on linguistic matters and develop/train new and existing freelancers.
• Ensure good team interaction, resolve terminology questions, and achieve goals set by the French Team Lead.
• Participate in the development of new and improved working processes.

Requirements

• Native-level French Canadian (written and spoken) and fluent English (written and spoken).
• University degree in Translation/Applied Languages or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3+ years of relevant experience in the translation and localization industry.
• Thorough understanding of the localization process.
• Excellent user experience of standard software, such as Windows, Office applications, and CAT tools.
• Ability to work with tight deadlines and in a virtual team.

Nice to have

• Experience as a translator in Mobile Apps, Search Engines, IT Consumer Products, Entertainment, Marketing, Software UI, or Websites.
• Knowledge of terminology in IT consumer products, social media, and entertainment.
