What you will do

• Find, track, and review state utility commission proceedings and legislation across target states to identify risks and opportunities.
• Summarize and synthesize regulatory filings using AI and advanced research tools for internal teams.
• Conduct foundational research required for senior staff to draft formal comments and thought leadership pieces.
• Equip Sales teams with specific utility pain points, goals, and budgets found in filings.
• Enhance proposal win rates by providing regulatory intelligence to RFP response teams.
• Review upcoming filing dates and program cycles to identify new sales opportunities.

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience working in the regulatory, utility, energy, or climate space.
• Understanding of state utility commission proceedings and ability to navigate dockets.
• Ability to distill complex regulatory and legislative language into clear, actionable takeaways.
• Curiosity and ownership, ensuring timely delivery of outputs.
• Ability to travel for work trips (estimated 5%).

Nice to have

• Direct experience working for a State Utility Commission or a regulated utility.
• Technical understanding of Virtual Power Plants (VPPs) or DERMS.
• Previous experience in a Market Development or Regulatory Affairs role within a clean-tech SaaS company.
• Background in economics or policy analysis specifically related to Demand Side Management.
