TL;DR

Engineering Lead (Optimisation): Leading and evolving digital experiences for web/mobile applications with an accent on strategic direction, A/B testing, and digital transformation. Location: Hybrid, requiring at least two days per week in the Edinburgh, UK office location.

What you will do

  • Provide hands-on engineering leadership and expertise within the Digital Lab.
  • Drive the successful delivery of customer propositions across Scottish Widows and retail apps, overseeing customer experiences.
  • Foster a Fail Fast, Learn Faster mentality within teams to experiment and test new ways of engineering.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Owners to prioritise system improvements and product features.
  • Act as a change agent for engineering and team culture, promoting a test and learn approach.
  • Shape the strategic direction for engineering teams, demonstrating thought leadership in technical delivery.

Requirements

  • A visionary leader and advocate for digital transformation.
  • Deep expertise in Digital Optimisation, A/B testing, and associated data analysis.
  • Extensive experience and technical engineering knowledge in delivering customer experiences on mobile (native and web).
  • Proven experience in development of channel architecture capability.
  • Experience providing software engineering oversight, technical and people leadership across multiple teams.
  • Ideally, hands-on experience delivering AI/LLM solutions to customers.
  • Must be able to work in a hybrid style, spending at least two days per week in the Edinburgh office.
