What you will do

• Define the vision, goals, strategy, tactics, and roadmap for Open Source Software with the engineering team.
• Work closely with the hirify.global community to understand practitioner needs and drive engagement.
• Support prioritization of GitHub issues and engage with and accept community changes.
• Run meet-ups, town halls, and other gatherings to build a thriving OSS community.
• Study and research the broader data ecosystem, focusing on user requirements, market potential, and the competitive landscape with an AI future.
• Translate ambiguous user problems into well-scoped product initiatives with clear definitions of success.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in product management or a related function.
• Previous experience working with OSS software and building vibrant communities.
• Deeply quantitative, with an enjoyment for exploring data and connecting it to strategic initiatives.
• Experience in the data space, using or building data tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice to have

• Previous experience with the modern data stack that includes an OSS element (e.g., Spark, Presto/Trino, Confluent, Airflow, Superset).
• Comfortable discussing, explaining, and presenting product vision to large audiences.
