TL;DR

Lead Software Engineer (Clojure): Building and optimizing horizontally scalable microservices and high-throughput jobs using functional programming techniques with an accent on distributed systems architecture, continuous integration, and cloud deployment on AWS and Kubernetes. Focus on setting technical direction, mentoring engineers, and driving pragmatic innovation across multiple teams and products.

Location: Hybrid 2-3 times/week in Buenos Aires, Argentina

What you will do

• Work with large-scale distributed systems and set technical direction for multiple teams.
• Drive pragmatic innovation, ensuring resilient and scalable solutions across products and geographies.
• Mentor engineers and maintain a high technical bar across the organization.
• Write, test, instrument, document, and maintain code, participating in code reviews.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering leaders to build new experiences.
• Ensure observability, performance monitoring, and participate in on-call rotations.

Requirements

• At least 8 years of experience developing digital products in complex environments.
• Deep expertise in distributed systems, microservices architecture, and cloud technologies.
• Proven track record of designing and delivering large-scale systems.
• Strong background in object-oriented or functional programming languages and ability to work across multiple languages.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives across multiple teams without direct authority.
• Experience mentoring senior engineers and raising the technical bar.
• Practical knowledge of agile software development methodologies and CI/CD.
• Good communication skills.
• Advanced English skills.
• Must be able to work hybrid 2-3 times/week from Buenos Aires, Argentina.
